To install PowerLine Fonts [0] on Ubuntu/Debian, use the install.sh instead of the command “sudo apt-get install fonts-powerline”.

The install.sh runs some tricks to set up the fonts for your applications. If you just use the apt command, you might have to do some manual works to make those powerline fonts show up in the Font list of your application. For example, the Terminator.
